ONC Certification

Bethlehem, PA, March 23, 2018 — Exscribe EHR Version 7 has achieved Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-Health IT) 2015 Cures Update Edition Health IT Module Certification via Drummond Group LLC, an Authorized Certification Body (ACB) that has been empowered to test software for compliance with the requirements of the federal government’s program. The stamp of approval designates that the software offers the functionality that enables eligible providers and hospitals to meet Meaningful Use requirements, qualifying these organizations to receive payments under the ongoing EHR adoption program.

In addition to Exscribe EHR Version 7, customers will also have to subscribe to Exscribe’s third party e-prescribing service and Exscribe’s Patient Portal service. Each is available for an additional annual fee.

  1.  This certified product-version requires an annual subscription fee for electronic prescribing (170.315.b.3).
  2.  For transitions of care summaries (170.315.b.1) this certified product-version requires an annual subscription fee for a direct messaging account (allowing providers to securely send PHI to other providers).
  3.  This certified product-version requires ongoing annual costs to support online patient portal services (170.315.e.1).
  4.  Support for integration of this certified product-version with other ONC certified systems may require additional one-time costs.

Additional Costs

Not included in the initial purchase of this certified product-version are the following:

  1.  An annual subscription fee to e-prescribing services (170.315.b.3).
  2.  An annual subscription fee to the Exscribe Patient Portal services (170.315.e.1).
  3.  An annual subscription fee for a direct messaging account (170.315.b.1).

Contractual Obligations

When purchasing this certified product-version, a provider must sign a three-year agreement with Exscribe.

Technical or Practical Considerations

It is not necessary to engage with a third party vendor to use this certified product-version as this is handled through Exscribe. Third party vendors are limited to using e-prescribing service and direct messaging services. However, these vendors do not require our providers to enter into agreements to use their service.

CURES ACT REAL WORLD TESTING PLAN

Real World Testing is an annual requirement outlined in the ONC 21st Century Cures Act Final Rule for all health IT developers participating in the ONC Health IT Certification Program. The ONC requires Real World Testing plans be made publicly available annually by December 15th.

Certified FHIR API*

Exscribe has created a Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) certified API that gives orthopedic patients and providers the ability to access and share their clinical health data with other health systems.

This API was based on the requirements of the 21st Century Cures Act. It provides access to the required patient demographics, encounter documentation, lab reports, and clinical observations, which helps promote interoperability and accessibility through standardized formatting.

Patient EHI Export

Exscribe EHR includes the ability to export all electronic health information (EHI) stored by the EHR for either a single patient or the entire patient population within the EHR. Administrators can grant a user the privilege to perform either type of export. Export instructions for both single and population exports are shown in the Exscribe EHR All EHI Export document.

The export format is CVS for data while multimedia files, encounter notes, orders, and faxes are exported as PDF files. A link to the Exscribe EHR All EHI Export Data Dictionary technical documentation of the export format is included with the export. Exports will be stored in a location selected by the user that is accessible from the computer running the EHR client software.

The All EHI Export is included with the release of Exscribe EHR 7.5. No additional cost is required to perform an export, but if technical support or customization is required for an export, charges may apply.
