On January 8th, 2021, Exscribe joined the Modernizing Medicine family, bringing together two specialty-specific healthcare technology companies with strong, complementary areas of focus. The acquisition combines Exscribe’s decades of experience, talent, and customer focus on orthopedic practices with Modernizing Medicine’s modern cloud technology and success in this important medical specialty. As one organization, we will work to advance the orthopedic technology market to transform how healthcare information is created, consumed and utilized to increase practice efficiency and improve patient outcomes.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What does this mean for Exscribe customers? 

  • We expect that Exscribe customers can continue to use Exscribe technologies for years to come.  
  • We plan on continuing to invest in platform security, stability, performance and compliance.  As a forward-thinking company, we intend to leverage our decades of experience to provide products and services for orthopedic practices that improve efficiency, reduce burnout, and support value-based care. 
  • Dr. Sachdev, Richard McCormick, Andrew Frankenfield, Michael McGowan and Exscribe leadership will be joining Modernizing Medicine along with other members of the Exscribe team to ensure continuity and regular access to their expertise.
  • Our commitment to world-class customer success, client focus and patient outcomes hasn’t changed. 
  • We will take a thoughtful and methodical approach to align our functional areas and we plan to share progress with you on a regular basis.

Will my main point of contact change? Will I still get to work with the Exscribe employees that I have in the past?

Will we have to switch to Modernizing Medicine’s EHR, EMA?

  • We expect that Exscribe customers can continue to use Exscribe technologies for years to come
  • As one organization, we can leverage our combined expertise to enhance and grow our solutions to meet the needs of customers of virtually any size and orthopedic specialization.
  • For customers who do wish to explore Modernizing Medicine’s all-in-one cloud-based solutions for orthopedic practices, our goal is to make it easy for Exscribe customers to transition should they choose to.

What is your plan for continuing to invest in R&D for the Exscribe platform?

  • The orthopedic landscape continues to change rapidly. By combining our leading, specialty-specific expertise, we can accelerate innovation and bring the best EHR, practice management and technology solutions to our orthopedic customers and their patients.
  • We plan to continue to invest in platform stability, security and performance to ensure a great experience for Exscribe customers
  • We will be working closely together with Dr. Sachdev and the Exscribe team to determine the optimal product roadmap for our orthopedic solutions. On a combined basis, we believe the talent and investments together can deliver even better experiences for both Exscribe EHR and Modernizing Medicine EMA customers.  


I recently purchased and implemented Exscribe software.  What does this mean for me?  Can I terminate my agreement?

  • We expect that Exscribe customers can continue to use Exscribe technologies for years to come
  • As one organization, we intend to maintain our commitment to providing world-class support to you and all our customers. Critical to this success, Exscribe founder and CEO Dr. Sachdev and much of the Exscribe product and support teams will be joining Modernizing Medicine to ensure continuity of the excellent support customers expect. 
  • We encourage you to connect with our customer support team with any questions to ensure you can continue to get the most out of your Exscribe products.
  • Should you wish to explore termination, this will be determined by the terms of your existing agreement with Exscribe. However, we remain committed to supporting the platform you’ve purchased and will be offering compelling opportunities in the future to move to our cloud platform as an option.


I would like to move off of my Exscribe products. Will there be a charge to terminate my agreement?

  • Termination will be determined by the terms of your existing Exscribe product agreement.

Will this acquisition affect my ability to report MIPS during 2020?

  • We are working to ensure you have solutions to report relevant portions of MIPS to CMS during this calendar year and beyond.
  • More information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.

Can I subscribe to any of Exscribe’s revenue cycle management services?

  • As we focus intensely on bringing together our two companies, we will be putting on hold all new customer sales of Exscribe products, including revenue cycle management and/or INCISIVE software solutions.  
  • This will allow us to put 100% attention on assuring the best customer support for our existing clients while we invest in our product platform.

What investments is Modernizing Medicine making in the orthopedics space?

  • Modernizing Medicine has an all-in-one orthopedics solution including its specialty-specific electronic health records (EHR) system, EMA® Orthopedics, named #1 EHR in orthopedics for three consecutive years by Black Book.
  • The acquisition combines Exscribe’s decades of experience, talent, and customer focus on orthopedic practices with Modernizing Medicine’s modern cloud technology and success in this important medical specialty. 
  • Together, the companies will work to advance the orthopedic technology market to transform how healthcare information is created, consumed and utilized to increase practice efficiency and improve patient outcomes.

PAYMENTS & PRICING

How will this affect my billing and payments?  Will this affect my current payments plan?

  • Yes, you will make payments through an updated electronic billing platform.
  • You may notice some changes to invoices (e.g. line item names); however you should not anticipate changes to current product pricing from what is set forth in your existing agreements with Exscribe. 
  • Instructions will be provided to all customers regarding access to our updated payment portal.

Will prices for services change?

  • At this time, we do not anticipate any changes to fee structures for in term customer agreements.
  • As is commonplace, renewal prices are subject to change.
